The Spanish major focuses on cultivating Spanish-speaking talents who have a good knowledge  in Spanish literature and are able to translate, manage, teach and do research in foreign-related departments, enterprises and cultural institutions. Since the establishment in 2013, the major has always maintained the small class teaching, and has repeatedly achieved outstanding results in the national Spanish professional level test. We actively seek to establish inter-university cooperation with well-known universities in Spanish-speaking countries. Currently, we have already signed the relevant agreements with the University of Alcala, the University of Nebrija, the University of Zaragoza, the University of St. Thomas in Chile, the Autonomous University of Yucatan, Mexico and the St. Thomas of Peru to organize student exchange programs every year.

The main courses of the undergraduates are: Spanish Intensive Reading, Spanish Audio-visual Course, Spanish Speaking, Spanish Reading, Spanish Writing, Spanish Practical Writings, Spanish Interpreting, Spanish Translation, Newspaper Reading, Spanish Latin American History and Culture, History of Spanish Literature and Selected Readings, History of Latin American Literature and Selected Readings, etc.
