Teaching and research promote each other when great importance is attached to undergraduate education. Teachers of language courses , which are basic courses, abandoned cramming method and adopted the heuristic method of teaching how to fish rather than giving fish to stimulate students' interest and build up their language sensitivity. Many courses, including Intensive Reading, Listening and Translation, are excellent courses in Shanghai, and in the leading position among the country. In Humanities Courses, cultural exchanges between China and Japan, and classical and modern literary works are used to explain how to study Japan. Rich and colorful extracurricular activities include not only assignments to help students internalize language knowledge, but also Sakura Forum academic lectures for undergraduates to build their multi-knowledge framework, regular participation in program recording of foreign language channel of Shanghai TV Station, and internships in Chinese and Japanese enterprises, news media publishing industry, high school and higher vocational school, etc. Based on the cooperation with nearly 20 famous Japanese schools, each year, more than 20 students are sent to study in Japan for one year.
