East China Normal University announced the 2023 Contributions to Nurturing Award, and Prof. Yuan Xiaoyi, Dean of Simian Institute for Advanced Humanities and Professor of French Department in SFL, was honored with the “Outstanding Contributions to Nurturing Award”.

Yuan Xiaoyi has been teaching in the French Department since 2004, and served as the Dean of the College from 2012 to 2021. During her tenure, the College was successfully approved as a master’s degree authorization point in French Language and Literature and a doctoral authorization point in the first-level discipline of Foreign Languages and Literature. She has been awarded the Shanghai Yucai Award, Shanghai Woman Pace-setter, and the second prize of Huo Yingdong Education and Teaching Award. She has presided over the major project of the National Social Science Foundation, “Translation and Research of African French Literature”, and won the First Prize of Shanghai Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award.
