On the afternoon of November 24, the “2023 Annual Conference of Shanghai Foreign Language Society and Seminar on “Shanghai’s Voice in the Change of Foreign Language Education in China” was successfully held in ECNU.

This annual conference was organized by the Shanghai Foreign Language Society and hosted by SFL. More than two hundred experts and scholars from the domestic foreign language sector attended the conference. Experts and scholars at the conference carried out discussions on the themes of “Foreign Language Talent Cultivation and Foreign Language Teaching Reform”, “The Positioning of Foreign Language Education in the Strategy of a Stronger Educational Country”, “The Direction and Goal of the Change of Foreign Language Education”, and so on. The Dean’s Forum was conducted in the form of interviews, in which foreign language experts and scholars from various universities in Shanghai expressed their views and made wonderful speeches.

This symposium deepened the exchange of foreign language disciplines among universities in Shanghai, promoted the change and development of foreign language education in China, and facilitated the construction of disciplinary connotation and innovation of foreign language education.
