Gao Baoquan is a famous Chinese translator of foreign literature, researcher of the history of Sino-foreign literary relations, the history of translation and comparative literature between China and foreign countries, expert on Lu Xun, and the first diplomat of People’s Republic of China. He studied at Daxia University (now East China Normal University).
From September 26, sponsored by the Museum of Modern Press and Publications of China, and co-organized by FSL of ECNU, Nanjing Library and Shanghai Translators Association, the “Messenger of Culture and Friendship—110th Anniversary of the Birth of Gao Baoquan” is on display at the Museum of Modern Press and Publications of China.
On October 22, Professor Hu Xuexing, Associate Professor Li Chang and Mr. Shao Pengjie from the Department of Russian were invited to the Museum to give a lecture and share the outstanding contribution of Mr. Gao Baoquan to the cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.
