On June 24, 2022, China International Television (CGTN) hosted the 2022 BRICS Youth Forum “BRICS Youth Speak”, and Chen Xi, a PhD student from the Australian Studies Center of ECNU, was invited to participate in this forum as a Chinese representative. The forum was also attended by representatives from Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Argentina and other countries. It was broadcast live to the world through CGTN and CGTN Radio.
Chen Xi held that the BRICS mechanism acts as an important cooperation platform for emerging developing countries by providing opportunities for countries with different economic structures and resource endowments to work together and achieve effective cooperation. In addition, diversity and inclusiveness are key features that distinguish the BRICS mechanism from other existing cooperation systems.
Chen Xi also pointed out that economic changes are transforming the way of youth development, and youth development is bringing momentum to economic transformation and renewal, which is happening in China and other BRICS and BRICS+ countries, and thus leading and shaping the world’s changes.
