On August 22, 2022, the 4th Forum of China-Thailand Higher Education Cooperation - International Youth Forum was successfully held online and offline. The theme of the forum was “Youth Global Competency Development, Regional Co-development, Youth Mission and Application in Global Sustainable Development”. The forum was attended by more than 300 experts, scholars and youth representatives from Thailand, Madagascar and other countries.

Chen Xi, a doctoral student from SFL of ECNU, was invited to deliver a speech in English entitled “Towards Common Prosperity: China-ASEAN Cooperation and the Mission of the Young Generation”.

Chen Xi reviewed the historical connection between China and ASEAN countries. In the face of the ever-changing international situation, China and ASEAN have tided over together for three extraordinary decades, during which both sides have established and consolidated bilateral friendly relations by exploring cooperation and joint development on the basis of mutual respect to seek common ground while reserving differences and exploring a unique path that has stood the test of time.

On the mission of the young generation in building the China-ASEAN community of destiny, Chen Xi believed that as the inexhaustible driving force of the times and the future of the world, the young generation is making and will continue to make positive contributions to the realization of sustainable China-ASEAN cooperation.
