The Inaugural Conference of the Sino-French Language and Culture Comparative Research Association Concluded and the seminar of "History and Reality: French Literature in the Horizon of World Literature" ended successfully

On October 24, the inaugural meeting of the Sino-French Language and Culture Comparative Research Association and the Seminar on "History and Reality: French Literature in the Perspective of World Literature" seminar were held at East China Normal University. The meeting was conducted online and offline at the same time. in a combination of online and offline methods. Wang Hongzhou, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our schoolECNU attended the meeting and delivered a speechaddressed the meetning. Yan Lu, who is the Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages Yan Lu, Dean Yuan Xiaoyi, who is the Dean of the he School of Foreign Languages, Wang Jing, who is the Dean director of the French Department Wang Jing and all the teachers of the French Department attended the meeting. At the inaugural meeting of the Sino-French Language and Culture Comparative Research Association in the morning, Wang Hongzhou first delivered a speech. He briefly introduced introduced the basic situation of our school, the School of Foreign Languages and the French Department. Subsequently, Wang Hongzhou He then explained stressed the role and the significance of the comparative perspective study in the current world structure, and said that East China Normal UniversityCNU will was ready to give fully support to the construction and development of the Sino-French Language and Culture Comparative Research Association. Professor Wu Di, the chairman of the Chinese and Foreign Language and Culture Comparative Research Association and professor from Zhejiang University,  and the three senior consultants including Xu Zhenhua, Cao Deming and Xu Jun of the Sino-French Language and Culture Comparative Research Association also delivered made keynote speeches respectively. They reviewed the long history of Sino-French cultural exchanges, the importance of cultural comparison between China and France, and put forward some suggestions for the future work of the Sino-French Language and Culture Comparative Research Association. Also addressing the meeting was the co-organizer of the conference, Cao Yuanyong, president of the Shanghai branch of Zhejiang Literature and Art Publishing House. He said that the publishing house would support the work of the research association society. Finally, Professor Yuan Xiaoyi, as the president of the Sino-French Language and Culture Comparative Research Association, reported on the related matters of the seminar and announced the formal establishment of the Sino-French Language and Culture Comparative Research Association. In the afternoon, "History and Reality: French Literature in the Perspective of World Literature" Youth Forum was held. The four forums were hosted by Professor Sun Shengying from the School of International Relations, Professor Wang Jing from East China Normal University, Professor Gao Fang from Nanjing University and Professor Wang Dazhi from Dalian University of Foreign Studies. Young scholars and PhD candidates from East China Normal University, Nanjing University, Peking University, Shanghai International Studies University and other universities have conducted extensive discussions on literature, history, cross-cultural research, translation and other issues and learned from each other through inspiring perspectives, learning and learning from each other, and colliding sparks of inspiration. After the Youth Forum, a brief closing ceremony of the inaugural meeting of the China-France Language and Culture Comparative Research Association was held. Professor Yuan Xiaoyi gave a speech.
